"LOST+FOUND; An exhibition of work by four Melbourne-based artists making use of found images and materials. Amos Duggan, Antony Kraus, Benk and Shelley Krycer will be exhibiting paintings, paste ups, sculptures and digital collages. Kraus' installations evoke a distopic nostalgia of the displaced familiar. Duggan fuses human, animal and environment to produce new realities; new symbols to substitute those found in our impersonal, profit-focused mass-culture. Krycers’ long limbed figures and delicate geometric compositions address moments of found and re-found connection with the intangible and the self. Benk invites viewers to get lost in his digital collages that work against the expected, creating vivid and often humorous imagery. Working with images and materials that have had a prior life, these artists create works that have an embedded history, rich in nuance and seductively playful."
