Do you really look at and appreciate the things that surround you?
In continuation of my Deteriorating Garden series, I chose to do a visual study of another object that had been in my garden for my whole life and was naturally breaking down. I decided to pay attention to the table's form, shapes, stains and textures caused by scratches, deterioration and other marks. This is the third video in my Deteriorating Garden series. Over the years this bench has become old and dirty and has been inhabited by spiders and soft toys which my parents bought second hand to scare away possums. I decided to do a study of the bench's rough wooden textures and metal frames as well as the disregarded objects which have been left with the fate of deterioration. A succah is a part of the Jewish festival Succot. It's like a temporary tent-like room that we build in our garden and leave up for one week of the year. During that week we eat our meals inside the succah. We've had the same one for as long as I can remember. I always find it interesting sitting inside it, I pay close attention to the old decorations and tattered walls moving with the wind. I also line up relationships between the decaying bamboo roof and the outside world. This video was made to capture that experience. It's the fourth video in my Deteriorating Garden series. Made: 2007 For this video I chose and animated five wooden objects from my house (inc. garden) and categorised them from largest to smallest.

When I was about 5 years old we had the frame of a pergola put up, it was never finished. After about 17 years it began falling apart and got taken down, it had still never been finished. I took the time to visually study this broken structure which never had a purpose. I looked at it's form, it's textures and deterioration. This is the first video in my Deteriorating Garden series. Made: 2007 This was a fun day where I made 3 clones of myself and got them to all hang out for me.
Too bad I don't own four of the same T-Shirts! Made: 2006 Videos these days seem to be in set ratios, 4:3, 16:9, but what if the boundaries of the video decided to change without the subjects permission?
